2008 ALPFA Scholarship Program
The Hispanic College Fund (HCF) in partnership with the Association of Latino Professionals in Finance and Accounting (ALPFA) has created a new scholarship program. HCF was founded in 1993 to develop the next generation of Hispanic business leaders in America by awarding scholarships to deserving Hispanic students. ALPFA founded in 1972, was the first national Hispanic professional association in the United States. Together, HCF and ALPFA are providing scholarships for undergraduate and graduate students pursuing degrees in accounting or finance-related fields. Please see below for more information about this program and how to apply.
 
Eligibility
* Must be Hispanic or of Hispanic descent
* Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident residing in the United States or Puerto Rico
* Must be studying at an accredited university in the U.S. or Puerto Rico for the upcoming academic year
* Must be (or plan to be) enrolled full-time for the upcoming academic year 2008-2009
* Must have earned and maintain a cumulative Grade Point Average of no less than 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
* Student must demonstrate financial need
* Must be pursuing a undergraduate or master's degree in business, finance or accounting.
 
Scholarship Award
Average award: $1,250 - $1,500
Limited scholarship awards for top candidates up to $10,000
 
Deadline - March 15, 2008
You must submit your application online at scholarships.hispanicfund.org by midnight (EST).
 
How to Apply
Click here or go to HCF's website at scholarships.hispanicfund.org and click on "Scholarships - Apply Now." Follow the link to our online application.

If you have never applied for an HCF scholarship, create a login (using your email address) and a password. If you applied to an HCF scholarship through our online application, you do not need to create a new account. Enter your email address and password in the fields provided. If you do not remember your password, click on "Forget your password?" below the login button.

Once you start your application, you can save it and come back to make additions, deletions, updates, and/or corrections to your application before the deadline.

You will be asked if you would like HCF to be able to contact you prior to submitting your application. We highly recommend that you allow us to contact you. HCF emails helpful hints and reminders about application procedures and deadlines. HCF will not send spam and does not allow others to view or use your email address.

You will be given an option of programs to apply for. Select the ALPFA Scholarship Program.

Goldman Sachs MBA Fellowship
If you have recently been admitted to one of the MBA programs listed below we invite you to apply for the Goldman Sachs MBA Fellowship.

Initiated in 1997, the Goldman Sachs MBA Fellowship is designed to increase the level of interest in and awareness of careers in the financial services industry among Black, Hispanic and Native American business school students. Students matriculating at one of the participating MBA programs are eligible to receive full tuition for the first year of business school along with a summer internship. Upon successful completion of the summer internship and acceptance of an offer to return as a regular full-time employee Goldman Sachs will underwrite tuition costs for the second year of business school. The application deadline is April 16, 2006.
